Advertorials are such a double-sided coin & questions always arise from how exactly marketers should use them!
It is no secret consumers responds well when advertisements appear to be endorsed or appear on large editorial giants like fox, MSNBC etc.
Is the use of advertorials to sell products ethical?
What do you think?
Are there ways we can ensure that we are not deceiving the consumer?
The fact is FTC rules are mainly around disclosure. But they don't give a very clear annswer as to what constitutes proper disclosure. Is the word advertisement at the top the screen enough to be defined as proper disclosure!? In most cases no. What do you think?
