Welcome to the new year, upon doing a review 2016 and researching what is working in 2017. We have created a guide to what is working for offers and traffic sources and what's not.

Which Traffic Sources are working?

Facebook Advertising

Facebook is back in 2017 bigger and badder then ever! With a few new roll outs like Custom Audiences and a new Facebook marketing team in place this year is going to be Facebook's biggest advertising year yet. We are especially seeing more and more affiliates switching from the blackhat methods to e-commerce methods on Facebook. This is great news for both Facebook and the affiliates as it's opened a new door for affiliates and Facebook allows this promotion as it's 100% whitehat. To get more information of how you can get into this craze, follow our shopify guides and get your ads going on Facebook in no time.

On that note of course blackhat is still being run on a daily basis though it's a little bit more difficult these days especially if you don't have the experience and knowledge. Overall whitehat is definitely something to watch as the year goes on.

If you want to bring in those 200-1000% ROI's I highly suggest you get into Facebook marketing by following our step by step guides.

Native Ads

As most affiliates know Native Ads has been huge in 2016 and it doesn't look like it will be slowing down anytime soon. Most affiliates are still promoting nutra, skin type verticals but more and more are thinking outside the box and promoting other things such as Casino and e-commerce products.

That being said Native Ads has been harder and harder to get blackhat ads to stick and if you are approved it does not last for too long. If you plan on getting into native plan to run something that will be lucrative and follow the guidelines of the native ad network your promoting on.

Pop Traffic

Pop traffic seems to be at the pretty much the same it's been the past few years, decent ROI and mostly sweep type offers such as free ipad or free iphone, etc etc, with new angles switch up monthly to keep them converting. Pop traffic cost is still the same, reliable traffic source remains pretty much unchanged in 2017.

Adwords& Bing Search

Adwords and Bing have been growing with e-commerce products in the last quarter of 2016. This will continue to grow in 2017 and be a huge traffic source (especially Adwords) for doing $xx,xxx daily. A lot of affiliates are already crushing it, it would blow your mind away. There is a lot less competition these days on Adwords due to a lot of blackhat affiliates not being to run. There is serious money to be made here with affiliates and e-commerce products.

Video Marketing

Video marketing is something we haven't really touched on yet in Powerhouse but plan on rolling out a few guides. There is huge untapped potential here as videos that are well made and attractive tend to cost less per click and at the same time be more convincing for the user to sign up and get that lead or sale. I have recently launched a Video Marketing campaign on a particular traffic source and have seen some very good results.

Verticals

Well obviously e-commerce is going to be huge in 2017. It's hard to believe that one of the oldest methods on the internet is now growing more then ever.

The main reason for this is because technology has advanced in the past year or so making it easier and easier to promote your own products online. Let's start with shopify for example which is currently the #1 application being used to sell goods. Add on top of that an aliexpress plugin that gives affiliates access to cheap products that they can easily sell for 3 or 4 times more then what they are worth. This makes promoting your own products easy to setup and very profitable. This all adds up to actually owning your own brand and business and sets affiliates up with a long-term business. This is going to be HUGE in 2017!

Diet is still as strong as ever, especially with the new year starting it always seems to be the biggest time of the year to promote these types of products. Products such as Garcinia have now been around a long time and still doing very well. Another product that will be on the rise in 2017 will be probiotics. There aren't too many of these products out there selling right now but I based on research and data is going to be well known soon as it's trending.

Anti-aging vertical is still doing very strong and is probably one of the most consistent offers over the past few years were you can consistently making $xx,xxx daily, with Facebook's new technology integrations this will do very well with a look alike audiences and probably perform a bit stronger on social media then it was doing last year. Native Ads is consistently serving these ads but the ROI's are not as good as they are on Facebook.

Upcoming products such as Virtual Reality and tracking device type offers will do well in 2017. I have a feeling VR will really take off as I've already seen 5-6 products today alone being promoted on various traffic sources.

Casino is also doing well, takes a huge budget to test and find success but when you do the ROI's are very generous. Look for leadgen type Casino offers if you want to have great conversion rates.

Let us know what your seeing in 2017 or what you think will do well be a success in 2017. I'll post updates here and there to let you know as well!

In my opinion Facebook will continue to dominate for those who can run WH campaigns and use creativity to do things differently. Ecom is doing well, and lead gen is still crushing. Chasing the sweeps dream on native or push is gonna die out if it hasn't already for most people...and if you try those methods on Google or FB the accounts will die.

The traffic sources Ill be focusing on are native (RC, Outbrain/Taboola), google/bing and Facebook. And of course email.
