I have recently started a campaign on Microsoft ads promoting a product in the parenting niche.

The keywords I am targeting are keywords like "how to teach a child to read".

I have been running this campaign for about a day and I barely have any clicks.

Does anyone know of a way I can increase traffic for this campaign or if there is a product in a different niche that I can target keywords that have higher searches?

There could be many reasons but here are some things to consider:

Use broad match so your ad shows for more searches.
Add more keywords
Increase bids.
Use a spy tool like semrush & see what others bid on.
Raise your budget
Add a new campaign that targets search partners.
try different angles and adgroups.

Besides what Joey said, I believe 1 day on Bing is too early to judge the performance.

I also have gone through such situations a number of time, had it resolved by increasing the budget and bidding rate.

Thanks, everyone for helping me.

Can I know what would be the average CPC for non-buyer intent how-to keywords just so I can know what a cpc a too expensive CPC is?

Unless someone has specifically run that exact niche no one really knows. Spy tools like SEM Rush might give an estimate but they aren;t accurate either. Only way to know is run it yourself.
