If we set up a successful campaign, how long can we expect it to be successful? Can we profit from it for as long as the niche is alive or does it only last a few weeks or months before you need to find another winner? Is there anything that can be done to maximize the lifespan of your profitable campaign besides A/B testing and optimizations?

I have had 3 campaigns running on Google ads for more than 5 years. I have changed the ads every 2 or 3 months. In my experience search ads have the most longevity out of all other types if traffic.

The shortest longevity comes from push ads. They are abused aggressively by multiple affiliates and require the ad networks or pubs to actively get new subscribers to maintain quality. Here you need to change ads weekly.

Facebook is also great for longevity. I ran profitable casino campaigns for almost 3 years straight bit it got harder and harder to run blackhat.
