Campaign Tracking
This is the most difficult and challenging for most new affiliates. If you don’t have a technical background it even makes it that much more challenging, but don’t worry that’s why Powerhouse Affiliates was built. We will help make you an expert in no time.
Tracking is the most important thing you can do in internet marketing. You need to be tracking everything possible from Devices, Countries, Cities, etc. If you are not tracking properly turn around get your money back and quit internet marketing all together, never start a campaign without proper tracking otherwise you will fail 99.9% of the time!
Things you will need
- Followed the directions in http://powerhouseaffiliate.com/forum...-ad-creation-3 and have a good ad structure and setup in place.
- A good tracking system. We highly suggest using the latest version of CPVLabs. There are tutorials on how to use CPVlabs in the forum.
- A good understanding of tracking works.
- Never use affiliate links directly! This is the worst possible thing you can do and chances are you will have your Ad Account banned!
- Always promote the same GEO as the offer is listed for in the affiliate network.
- Don’t promote the offer directly, always use a pre-landing page. (Landing page-> Offer/Product)
CPVLabs Setup
The first thing we need to do is setup a campaign in CPVLabs.
- C lick on Add Campaign & Direct Link and Landing Page

2. Enter your campaign name and for the traffic source select Facebook. This will load all the default settings required for Facebook.

3. The next step we will have to worry about is setting up the FB tokens. There are 4 tokens that are available to use with Facebook. I usually only use a few but depending on how your campaign is setup in facebook you may want to use.

Number | Token | Description |
1 | {AdvertID} | Ad identifer of your ad |
2 | {Age} | Age of the visitor |
3 | {Angle} | Angle |
4 | {Country} | Country of the visitor |
5 | {Gender} | Gender |
4. In the next steps and for training purposes we will use all the tokens listed above. Scroll down to Ad Token and replace edit with {AdvertID}.
5. Click the OFF button to the right of Capture Extra Tokens and ensure it’s set to on. I’ve created a quick chart below to know which tokens and names you should add to which fields.

Name | URL Append | Parameter |
Angle &angle={Angle} Angle
Country &country={Country} Country
Gender &gender={Gender} Gender

6. The rest on how to setup landing pages and adding offers can be found here http://powerhouseaffiliate.com/forum...-using-cpv-lab. The only suggestion I have is instead of using an iframe pixel to use a postback pixel as most CPVlabs hosting does not automatically include a secured URL (https).
7. Once everything is saved, copy your link from “Campaign URL” and place it into your Destination URL in your Facebook Ad and submit the Ad for approval. Note: Always test your link by clicking “test link” to ensure everything is working properly.
