Domain Names and Conversion Rates

Has anyone ever seen a noticeable difference in conversions when using a domain name that isn't related to what you're promoting? I have a domain that isn't very general but I'm not sure if it's worth the cost of buying a new domain.

I use general domains all the time...honestly I never looked at the data to see if it makes a difference. It's probably cause I suspect it doesn't make a huge difference.
